Tales of Atherra

Greetings, travelers.

It’s been some time since the last Creator’s Desk, and quite a bit has changed both on and off the page.

Welcome to Tales of Atherra

Perhaps the biggest change of all is one many of you have already noticed.

After years beneath the banner of Tales of Varestal, the project has officially grown into Tales of Atherra.

What began as the story of one kingdom slowly became something far larger. With stories reaching beyond Varestal and stretching across distant lands and cultures, it became clear that these tales no longer belonged to a single realm.

They belong to Atherra.

Alongside the new name comes a completely redesigned website, a new logo, updated maps, and an aesthetic inspired by ancient manuscripts and forgotten archives. My hope is that the new home of Atherra feels less like a blog and more like a collection of stories waiting to be discovered.

Though the name above the door has changed, the heart of these stories remains the same.

The World Continues to Grow

One of my favorite aspects of writing has always been worldbuilding, and Atherra continues to evolve with every new idea.

Maps have been refined, lore continues to expand, and there are still countless stories hidden throughout the world waiting for their time to be told.

Sometimes I think I’ve reached the edge of the map.

Then another road appears.

The Heretic’s Gospel

Much of my creative attention lately has been devoted to The Heretic’s Gospel.

Serith’s journey has changed considerably from its earliest concepts, becoming darker, more personal, and far more character-driven than I originally envisioned. Like many stories, it has evolved naturally, and I believe it is stronger because of it.

Some of my favorite moments are the ones that never existed in the original outline.

Life Beyond Writing

Life itself has been busy lately. Between moving, work, family, and everything else adulthood throws our way, writing hasn’t always been easy to prioritize.

But even during the busiest seasons, Atherra has never been far from my thoughts.

Progress may sometimes be slower than I’d like, but the stories are still there, waiting patiently.

And so am I.

Looking Ahead

We’ve come a long way since The Shattered Crown.

There are still kingdoms left unexplored.

Stories left untold.

And many roads yet to travel.
